What to do in Tianjin?

On Saturday I met one of my regular students for the first time, a 10 year old girl called Jenny. When meeting a new student it's important to assess their current level of English so that you can fit the lesson around them and decide where they need to improve. I also think it's very important to build a bond with the student and try to get to know them.

Jenny enjoys drawing and that's something we have in common. Great! It's wonderful if you can share knowledge about something the child is interested in.

Jenny told me she lives in Tianjin, China. I would love to visit one day and she let me know about all of the fun things to do. There is a great museum with lots to see and a sky tower where you can have a meal. I didn't know about this building so Jenny kindly drew a picture.

I have so much fun talking with my students and getting to know their interests
It really is so helpful to have regular students!
